Safety

The safety of our employees, subcontractors and the public is paramount and is embodied in our Tenix Values. Tenix incorporates an Occupational Health and Safety system as an integral part of our business processes from design to planning through to project completion. Tenix's systems have achieved certification to the AS4801 standard and the Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme. Tenix also has Federal Safety Commissioner accreditation.

Zero Harm

During 2009/10 we took our commitment to safety to a higher level by launching Zero Harm, an initiative to create a consistent and authentic safety culture throughout Tenix and across our delivery partners. Zero Harm provides the strategic framework to guide us to achieving our safety vision of Safe People, Safe Places, Safely Home.

The Zero Harm initiative is driven by our executive management team and is built upon five guiding principles that are non-negotiable.

Five Guiding Principles of Zero Harm

Five Guiding Principles of Zero Harm

To provide executive oversight of safety performance, a monthly review is conducted where all operational managers are required to account for operational safety performance. Where any division is below set standards they must establish and implement a plan to recover their safety performance levels. A strong audit regime is in place to continually monitor safety performance across projects and divisions.

All senior, middle managers and supervisors have been trained in safety leadership and legal obligations.
